About Kerhys
I was born on the northwest coast of England and now live and work in Nottinghamshire. I've always been passionate about the therapeutic power of art, and after discovering it early on, I threw myself into studying art as therapy. By day, I work as a Recreational Therapist for the Ministry of Defence, where I support serving personnel recovering from injury and illness to explore the magic of art themselves.
By night, I paint. While I'm best known for my landscapes, I love the process of painting just as much as the subject itself. I mostly work with oils, using the "alla prima" (at first attempt) method, where wet paint is layered onto wet paint, usually in one sitting. This technique lets me paint spontaneously, balancing intent and intuition, without getting caught up in perfection or unnecessary details.
